Hydrogen Energy

Hydrogen energy comes from hydrogen, the most plentiful gas in the universe. It is the simplest and lightest element known. It is the primary ingredient within stars.

In fact, hydrogen energy is the source of the sun's power. This is because the sun, the resident star of our solar system, is comprised of hydrogen and helium gases. As hydrogen atoms combine to form helium atoms, a process known as fusion, radiant energy is released. This radiant energy is responsible for giving off light and sustaining life on earth.

Hydrogen energy would be an ideal resource given how plentiful and clean this option would be. However, hydrogen is too light to exist on earth. For that reason, it is only found in a compound form on earth. It is possible to separate hydrogen from methane through steam reforming, but this releases greenhouse gases. Another method is through electrolysis. This is an emission-free option. Unfortunately, it is currently too expensive.
