Energy Products

"Energy products" can refer to a wide range of devices and appliances. In general, many different items make use of power. These include children's toys, traveling supplies, and integral aspects of the home. Recreational, useful, and necessary items may require some aspect of energy.

For the purposes of this site, energy products of interest encourage efficiency and sustainability. A great help in determining the most effective of these is the Energy Star standard. This is an international program which sets specifications for different items. It originated in the U.S. in 1992.

The evaluation of different energy products will of course take into account its type. For instance, within the realm of appliances, there are refrigerators, dishwashers, and clothes washers. Just in the realm of dishwashers, at least 41% energy savings must occur in order for the product to meet the requirements.
